real-time terrain rendering frenzy

  if you've ever played the game myth from bungie software, you'll know that it has gorgeous terrain. the unfortunate part is that your camera is stuck looking down at the ground - you can't ever look up at the horizon, because its engine can't render that many polygons at once.

  well, when I was putting together my resume for bungie, I decided that it would make a neat tech demo to write an adaptive-level-of-detail terrain rendering engine so that you could fly over myth maps. you can find this 'plugin viewer' here.
